Dear Families

Term 3

School Returns for Term 3 on Monday July 13th at 8:45am. We will let you know if staggered drop off and pick ups times will be continuing.

OHSC will operate as normal.

Year 6 School Camp

As you may have read in previous newsletters, please note that the Year 6 camp to Phillip Island Adventure Resort has been cancelled. We made this decision several weeks ago   based on the information that was available to us around COVID 19 from the Chief Medical Officer and State Government authorities. The decision was made at the time we needed to have all our planning in place.  Suitable and appropriate Outdoor Education Camp programs unfortunately are fully booked out in Term 4.  To this end there is no replacement camp.  Parents will receive a rebate or a refund.

We understand this decision has been met with great disappointment from our students and some parents. I am sure we (staff and parents) will all continue to encourage  our students as they navigate the ups and downs of school life.

Year 4 School  Camp

No final decision has been made as to whether the Camp at Sovereign Hill be go ahead from September 1st – September 3rd. We will be making our decision based on the advice available to us by Health authorities/ CEM / Sovereign Hill /School at the beginning of Term 3.

Hygiene

If your child is using santiser from school that is irritating their hands please remind them not to use it. Students are able to wash their hands with soap and water. Students are able to use their own santiser supplied from home.

The School Cleaner has been engaged to carry out extra cleaning  both in and outside the school.

PLEASE NOTE: If your child is unwell in anyway, they must stay at home.

School Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

The Semester 1 School Reports will be sent home via your child on the last day of this term Friday 26 June. Please understand that due to Remote Learning these are modified reports. This is the case for all schools.

We are planning to have Parent Teacher Interviews in Term 3 on Tuesday July  21st from 1:45pm – 7:45pm and Wednesday 22nd July from 3:30pm - 6pm . These will need to be booked online through the ICON ePOrtal. If you cannot remember your log in details please email admin@sjvmulgrave.catholic.edu.au

Early Finish - 21st July

To facilitate Parent Teacher Interviews on  Tuesday 21st July students will finish school at 1pm. If staggered times are still in place we will go 1pm for A-L and 1:10 pm  for M-Z.

OHSC will operate from 1pm on July 21st. Children will need to provide their own lunch.

At this stage the Interviews will be face to face at school.  Social Distancing will be maintained.

If this arrangement changes we will let you know.

Bookings for Parent Teacher Interviews will go live at the start of Term 3.

School Closure Day - Term 3

In preparation for our School Review which will begin in August, the school will be closed for students on Friday 24th July.  The School Review occurs every 4 years and is conducted by  an external  facilitator and Catholic Education Melbourne.

Please note that we have cancelled the Closure Day planned for Staff Faith Formation on August 6th.

School will be as normal on August 6th.

We understand that there has been many challenges for families (and staff) across the last two months, but it is important  that we have the necessary time and resources to prepare for the Review.

Financial Commitments- School Fees and Charges

Once again I remind families that should you be experiencing  any Financial hardship in relation to the payment of school fees/ levies,  it is crucial that you let us know your circumstance,  so we can discuss  and plan a manageable way forward. These discussions/ meetings are confidential. As always the school  wishes to be  supportive of genuine financial hardship.

Communicating with us is an essential part of this process.
