Holiday reading

We encourage students to borrow for the school holidays – here are a selection of new titles from this term.

And if they don’t get to the library in person, students can borrow ebooks and audiobooks from our e-platform, using their Viewbank email address and Compass password.

Here are the latest audiobooks added to the collection:

Competition – combine a love of reading and video

The Department of Education provides schools in Victoria with access to ClickView’s database of educational videos and resources. This year ClickView are running a competition for students to combine their love of reading and video.

Students are to create a 90-second video and submit it into one of these four categories:

  1. Create a Book Trailer
  2. Perform a Dramatic Reading
  3. Book Review – Best or Worst
  4. Think Outside the Box

The video can be based on any book (not just books in the Premiers’ Reading Challenge), and is open to all year levels. The closing date is 21 August. Prizes include student certificates, trophies and $200 gift vouchers to the winners in each category!

More information is available here – students can also see us in the library for help entering the competition, or accessing ClickView.
