LIBRARY NEWS

From the library..
Happy Mother’s Day to all our mothers, grandmothers and carers for last Sunday. Our students have enjoyed reading and borrowing a collection of stories about these very special people and I hope they shared them with you too.
Premier’s Reading Challenge Update
This week students participating in the reading challenge will receive their username and password details. Students will need these details to log into the PRC website, access book lists, understand the rules and record their reading log. Due to the length of the book lists, we are unable to print a copy for everyone (the smallest list is 51 pages and the longest 85 pages!) The good news is though, that there are many, many books to choose from.
Just a reminder that for children on the K-2 challenge, they read 30 books (they can have them read to) and for years 3-9 children, they read 20 books. If anyone has any queries, please send me an email at library@holytrinity.nsw.edu.au or contact me at school.
Anzac Ted
This week K-2 are reading ‘Anzac Ted’ by Belinda Landsberry and ‘The Anzac Puppy’ by Peter Millett as part of our Anzac theme. They have loved listening to Anzac stories and designing a new uniform for Anzac Ted. We have learned lots of new words too - foe, woe, trench, wound, peninsula, digger - and interesting facts about Anzac Day and Gallipoli. Check with them what they know!
Secondary - After Hours Library Help
This term, the library will continue to be open on Thursday afternoons from 3.20 - 4.00pm for our Secondary students to access help with homework and assignments. Students can stay for as long as they need, however this time is only to be used for school work and they need to organise their own way home at 4pm. If you’re interested in coming along or have any queries, please let me know or see me in the library.
