PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

MS MICHELLE HAEUSLER - PRINCIPAL

The end of the term is upon us. This term has had it’s challenges with continual movement in and out of remote learning. The school community as a whole has done an amazing job; teachers and support staff have worked hard to ensure that a suitable learning environment was accessible to students; the majority of our students have attended their classes and completed tasks as best they can and parents and guardians have ensured that students have been well cared for, both academically and mentally.

We don’t yet know what learning environment will be open to us in Term 4. The Premier has stated that an announcement will be made well in advance of the start of Term 4, so until then we need to remain patient and hopeful.

Last week we farewelled Lyndal Robinson, as she started twelve months of parental leave. Information in regard to who will be teaching Ms Robinson’s classes in Term 4 will be provided in my Principal letter to parents during the holidays.

It has been wonderful to have our Year 12 students and some Year 11 students back on site this week. Mr Joyce has ensured that we won’t go another year without an Athletics Carnival, and has been running a few events at lunchtime with the Year 12 students. This has created some fun and excitement over the past few days. As the Year 12s finish Term 3, I ask that you keep them in your prayers, as they continue to study and complete practice exams during the holidays in preparation for their final exams, which start on 27th October.

As you consider your movements in these school holidays I am sure that you will be conscious of the ever changing landscape of COVID cases. While we try to switch off from this, as adults, we are also mindful of how this virus would impact our own community.

If you find yourself in a situation where you become exposed to the virus, the following website can provide you with information as to what you need to do: What to do if you are a close contact of a person diagnosed with COVID-19 (https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/ ).

If you require support during the school holidays, please leave a message with your contact details on this number, 0417108805, and I will call you back as soon as I am able.

If you are an AFL supporter you may be watching the Grand Final during the holidays. All the best to the Melbourne supporters, but for me it is “Go the Doggies”!
