From the Office

Preparing for the return to school

The following is a short list of things you can do or provide to assist your child for their return to school.

  • Hats:  we are in our Sunsmart period, so all students are required to have a school hat that protects their face and neck. This is especially important as students will be spending more time outside than usual.
  • Sunscreen: teachers can provide sunscreen to students but are not allowed to apply it to your child.
    • If your child uses a particular sunscreen or is allergic, please ensure this is known to your child's teacher. Many students in this situation will have a small bottle of their own sunscreen in their schoolbag.
    • If your child doesn't normally apply their own sunscreen, give them a chance to practice at home.
  • Masks: as mentioned, if your child is in Year 3 or above, give them a chance to become adjusted to wearing a mask and taking it off and on.
  • Water bottles: it is important that students drink from their own water bottle and not the bubble taps, so please ensure they bring a full bottle with them each day.
  • Recess and lunch: our online service will not operate during the hybrid learning period, so a packed lunch is essential each day until at least November 5.

Parents Onsite

Just a reminder that any adults coming onsite and into the office are required to wear a mask at all times, and to check in using the QR code located on the office front door.

2022 Enrolments

We are still taking enrolments for the Prep classes in 2022. If you are a current DPS family with a Prep student for next year, please ensure you submit your enrolment forms to the office as soon as possible. If you know of any families who are thinking of joining our school next year, I would ask that you encourage them to contact the school and take a virtual tour.
