From the Principal

Benvenuto - Welcome
This evening's announcement that Greater Shepparton's lockdown will end at midnight tonight certainly was good news and we are delighted to be able to begin welcoming some of our students back on site on Monday. The lifting of the lockdown means we
come back into line with regional Victoria's Return-to-School Plan, as follows:
Foundation to Year 2, and Year 7 - back full-time from Monday, October 11.
Years 8 and 9 - Tuesdays and Wednesdays on site until October 26, then start back full-time. Please note: Distance learning will continue to be delivered to Years 8 and 9 students on the days they are not attending on site.
We have been steadily making plans for the return to onsite learning. We are keenly aware of the impact of these ongoing lockdowns on our children, our staff and our families. As a staff, we are working on growing our understanding of the mental health impacts of the pandemic and lockdowns. We are focused on planning for a return to onsite learning which will provide a safe, supportive, connected environment for our children and families. Upon return to school, we will be operating under the guidance of the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) School Operations Guide, ensuring such things as limiting visitors to the college to essential visitors only (this does not include parents except for a limited amount of reasons); minimising mixing of cohorts; increased ventilation; air purifiers and use of outdoor learning. We will need to reinstate the pick-up and drop-off arrangements that were in place before we entered into this latest period of distance learning.
New guidelines for mask wearing were announced today. It remains mandated for students in Years 7 to 9 to wear a mask at school. For Foundation to Year 2 children, whilst it is not compulsory, it is highly recommended as an effective preventative measure against the spread of COVID-19. Please note, the college has a limited supply of masks so we ask that students bring their own from home. For the younger children it may be helpful to label the masks with your child's name.
It was with a flurry of activity and excitement that the soccer goals were erected on the soccer pitch today, with the AFL goals expected to arrive for installation early next week. At the south end of the building there are some beautiful new log seating areas and some picnic tables scattered throughout for students to utilise in break times and during learning times for outdoor learning opportunities.
Please take care and stay connected.
