Year 7 & 12 Fancy Dress
Year 7s spent many lunchtimes working with Year 12 girls to learn a dance routine for the Year 7/12 Fancy Dress which was held on Friday 23 March. Excitement was very high as each class performed in front of their peers and the Year 12 cohort. The judges found it very difficult to choose, but 7E came first, 7A were second and 7G came third. A huge thank you to the Year 12 dance leaders and Mr Julian Day and Ms Leah Liakos for their organisation of the event.
Year 8 Cyber Bullying Presentation
On Friday 16 March Year 8s attended a presentation by Youth Resource Officers from the Moorabbin Proactive Police Unit. The presentation covered topics related to cyber bullying, internet safety and appropriate use of technology. This was very timely as it coincided with the National Day Against Bullying and Violence. Statistics show that 1 in 4 young people are experiencing bullying and 1 in 5 secondary students have experienced online bullying in any given year. We encourage our students to take care of each other in and outside of our MGSC community and to 'speak, even if your voice shakes' if support is needed.
Uniform Matters
A reminder that as we move into Term 2 and the weather begins to cool down, students are not permitted to wear any clothing items that are not part of the MGSC uniform. Items such as hoodies, wrong-coloured scarves and track pants that are not the MGSC track pants worn with the PE uniform will be confiscated for two weeks. Please take the opportunity over the holidays to ensure your daughter is prepared with all the uniform she requires for winter and all items are named. It is highly recommended that your daughter has a pair of the MGSC track pants for PE as otherwise she will be wearing shorts all day even in the cooler weather.
