A Spectacular Evening

A red-and-gold themed night, with spectacular dresses and superb suits ended the term for the Year 11 and 12 students. It was an absolute honour and pleasure organising this event alongside my co-captain, Sam and our dearest Year Level Coordinator, Mr Randell. Thank you Mr Randell for being on top of all the preparations. If I could describe how the event went in three words, it would simply be; memorable, exhilarating and magical. Memorable as it is a very rare moment when you can spend the whole night with friends, classmates and teachers without having to talk about SACs, homework, exams and everything in between. It was a night of relaxation and realisation that school is not always about getting good grades, it is also about creating timeless memories to be cherished forever. Exhilarating, is what I would say stepping onto the dance floor made everyone feel. It was like shaking off all the stress term 2 caused and just absorbing the vibrant and ecstatic atmosphere. Finally, it was completely magical. Students who do not normally interact with each other within the school grounds suddenly became close. Students who would just walk past one another suddenly were dancing and singing together. It was a night of bringing everyone together as one and eliminating walls of separation and further building on the strong bond as a year level. As a year 12 student, the 2017 Senior School Formal is indeed one of my favourite memories of my Mordialloc College journey.  I hope it is the same for my colleagues and all the attendees.
