Australasian Problem Solving Maths Olympiad Competition

Each year thousands of schools participate in this competition from around Australia and New Zealand.

Thirteen students in Year 5, eleven students from Year 6 and 7, and the Accelerated Year 8 class took part in this problem-solving competition. It consists of five competitions during Terms 2 and 3.  Each competition consists of five questions with a 25-minute time limit.

 

This year in the Senior (Year 8) division, Angelo Dela Cruz was clearly the top student in our school, ranking in the top 2% across Australasia. In the Junior Division (Year 6 and 7), Hugh Caton was the top student ranking also in the top 2%. In the Maths Games for Year 5 students, Luca Emmerson ranked top student and was placed in the top 10%.
