Students Taking Action

Freedom for Farmed Rabbits - Year 5 Girls Taking Action!

Alicia O (5A) and Emma W (5B) from Year 5 are taking action to support rabbits and cats that have been subjected to animal farming, neglect and abuse.  While engaging with the 'Sharing the Planet' Unit of Inquiry, the girls decided that they could start a mini business at school to raise money for the Freedom for Farmed Animals shelter.

At this shelter, rabbits and cats are rehabilitated by dedicated foster carers, provided with necessary veterinary checks, vaccinations and desexing and then placed in caring homes. If these animals are not rescued, cared for and adopted out to new families, they will unfortunately be euthanized…and this is not an outcome the girls think is acceptable.

To support Alicia and Emma, we ask that students please consider purchasing one of their paper-made products on Mondays and Wednesdays during recess and lunch. They are selling Chatter Boxes (5c, 10c and 50c), Pop-ups (10c and 50c) and Cards ($1.00) from the Prep Deck. There are also raffle tickets available for a giant paper snowflake and chatter box.

All proceeds go towards supporting the work of the Freedom from Farmed Animals shelter. So let’s get behind Alicia and Emma, so that together we can make a difference!

OzChild Wishing Tree Program

Well done to the Junior School Council (JSC) and of course our entire school community for supporting yet another wonderful community initiative, the OzChild Wishing Tree Program.

The response and generosity has been amazing and we should all be proud knowing that we will be brightening the Christmas morning of many children this year by helping them to feel valued, loved and safe.

A Special OzChild Assembly will be held on Monday (3 December) at 3.00pm. All Welcome!
