School Zones

The Department has updated our school zone with only a few minor changes. This is part of a regular review process that happens annually.  Parents with children living in our school zone will always be able to request enrolment in our school.  Parents with children living outside our zone still have the choice to request enrolment, but their enrolment will depend on our capacity. Should parents wish to look at school zones across the state the link is https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/

School Council Finance Sub-Committee

The sub-committee structure of School Council is a very important aspect of the governance process of a school. You do not need to be elected to attend a sub-committee meeting and all parents are welcome to attend. With the retirement of Jason Rackley we have vacancies on the finance Sub-Committee. The focus of this committee is to ensure the smooth running of the school’s financial operations. If you are interested in being involved or would like to find out more information please contact either myself ringrose.janet.j@edumail.vic.gov.au or email Leighton Vivian our current School Council Treasurer becandleighton@gmail.com

School Fees

A gentle reminder that all school fees were due at the end of term 1, unless parents have opted for an instalment plan.  We find that we have a number of outstanding accounts.  A reminder will be sent directly to those families who have an overdue account. If you are having trouble in paying the school fees please contact me directly to discuss your situation.

Mother’s Day Stall - Friday 10th May

The HPS Mother’s Day stall will be held this Friday the 10th May. This group have organised a great range of gifts priced between $1 and $6. All students will have the opportunity to go over to the film room and select a gift for their mother/significant lady in their lives.  Students may want to bring a small bag to school to put their special purchase in.

NAPLAN

Whilst NAPLAN testing is an annual event for students in year 3 and year 5, as indicated earlier this year our school will be part of a three year program to transition students to an online platform. Graham Jackson has outlined the timeline and further information around this process inside Capers.

CROSS COUNTRY

The house cross-country event was held this week for students in Foundation to Year 2. Our House Captains were there to cheer their house on, and to support the running of the day. Thank-you to those parents who also came along to assist us. Later in the week we will conduct the Grade 3-6 races and from those results select our Cross-Country Team to compete at the district carnival.
