INTERMEDIATE GIRLS FOOTBALL

The captains job rested on the shoulders of Laruen Breguet and was given the tough job to tag MEC’s best player in the mid field for our first game. It worked as we hung on to win 2.2 to 2.1

INTERMEDIATE BOYS FOOTBALL

Our Year 9 and 10 boys football team progressed through to the second stage of this year’s school football competition with two strong performances at the Aero Ovals against Red Cliffs and Merbein. Some inaccurate kicking from the boys meant that the winning margin against Red Cliffs could have been greater, then it all clicked for a win in a better team performance against Merbein. Notable performers on the day were Jesse Gosman, Moala Polata, Max Spain and Peter Minitti.

LMR INTERMEDIATE GIRLS NETBALL

With a slightly changed line-up to our previous tournament, the Intermediate SJC girls were quick to play great netball at the Loddon Mallee Finals in Echuca.

Zara Copley and Ava Allen were firing, with accurate shooting and working very well together in goals. Mid courters Abbey Clifford, Prue Maloney, Matisse Wilkie and Mia Hollingsworth (when not in goals) moved the ball smoothly down the court, ran hard all day and provided plenty of opportunity for our attackers.

Our agile defenders Avalon Williams and Isabella McDonald gave the opposition a hard time, playing tightly and picking off many intercepts. A win, a draw, and two small margin losses – unfortunately missing out on progressing to the next level however a fantastic effort by the team. Well done! Thank you to Ellie Scott for assisting in umpiring on the day.
