What's Happening around School

Respectful Relationships - Student Survey

Mooroopna Secondary College is a lead school in the Respectful Relationships initiative in schools and we have already taken steps to promote and model respect and gender equality, as well as building student capacity to become resilient and confident young adults. This initiative was introduced to all schools (government and independent) as a result of the findings from the 2016 Royal Commission into Family Violence.

In the near future, students across 7 to 10 may be asked to participate in an online survey as an evaluation of this educational program. This evaluation aims to measure how the implementation has progressed and areas the school needs to address further. It is also a confidential process, with no way to identify students from the data gathered. An information sheet is attached to this notice.

Participation in the evaluation is voluntary and there is no obligation for students to take part. As such, attached to this notice is an "Opt Out" consent form. Should you wish for your student to not participate, please print out the consent form and return it to the front office. Otherwise, please make contact with Sarah Cameron to discuss further on (03) 5825 2344.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

On Sunday 11th November, some of our school and music leaders attended the Mooroopna Remembrance Day service. Lachlan Sykes (year 11) read a poem and laid a wreath, and Jessica Eldred (year 10) sang the British and Australian national anthems. It was a special morning to acknowledge and celebrate our fallen soldiers.
