Year 11 Presentation Ball
On Saturday 25 August, the Year 11 Presentation Ball was held in the Celebrity Room at Moonee Valley Racecourse. The Presentation Ball has become a significant cultural event in the Aitken College calendar; it is our own coming of age celebration, which brings the extended College community together.
The Year 11 presenting students were magnificent. The dance presentations were spectacular and showed the hours of hard work and preparation that had gone into the dance lessons. Student's conduct on the night was faultless, showing parents and teachers what wonderful young men and women they are becoming. I would also like to extend a special thanks to the students who participated in two dance presentations, to ensure that all students were able to take part.
A night like this does not happen without a mountain of work in preparation. I would like to formally mention some of the people who contributed towards the success of the Ball: The Heads of House, Mrs Jarvis-Dymond, Mr Perri, Mrs Lindsay and Mrs Monos who worked very hard with the students in the lead up to the Ball and were there very early on the day of the Ball. The Friends of Brookhill, who gave up their time and energy for several evening meetings, organising the seating, designing invitations and program and preparing the gifts. Anthony and Ros Simpson, from Magic in the Middle, for the spectacular and elegant decoration of the room (http://www.magicinthemiddle.com.au/). The Brookhill Administration Assistants, Mrs Callard and Mrs Matthews, for their organisation beforehand and help on the night. Finally, a big thank you to Sebastian Riscica, for preparing the student dance presentations. Sebastian’s positive attitude and excellent teaching made dance lessons a major highlight for the students, which showed in the professional presentations on the night.
