Environmental Program

Environment Week
Environment Week begins on Monday 10 September. There are lots of fun activities and initiatives planned for all year levels. Students will have an opportunity to participate actively in games and activities during recess and lunchtimes throughout the week, so keep an eye out for the Environment Week timetable, to be distributed next week.
The staff at Aitken College will also be participating in Environment Week initiatives. I am looking forward to highlighting areas where we can improve towards setting better examples on how to be more environmentally responsible.
In preparation for Environment Week, be prepared to help your children get involved, for example, by encouraging nude-food lunches (minimal to no single-use food packaging). What else can you do at home to reiterate environmental behaviours practiced at the College? Start a conversation with your children about what they do at school in relation to sustainability and how those skills can be transferable at home!
Year 10 Outdoor Environment
Year 10 Outdoor Environment students will also be implementing Environmental activities with Primary students throughout the week. This is a great way for the Year 10 students to consolidate their learning, as well as to get younger students excited about the environment and sustainability.
