Remembrance Day

2019 Poppy Appeal

Remembrance Day (11 November) is fast approaching. This year is the 101st anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended the fighting of the Great War. Remembrance Day not only remembers the service and sacrifice from the Great War, but has now evolved to include the remembrance of service personnel from all conflicts.

Melton Returned Services League (RSL) are raising money for their yearly Poppy Appeal. Poppy pins, badges, pens and wristbands are available to purchase from our College's General Office.

Prices range from $1 - $5 depending upon the item sold. All funds raised directly support the RSL and the work they undertake with current, and returned, Australian Service Personnel and their families.

In addition, and on Remembrance Day itself, students will have the opportunity to make a Gold Coin donation and will receive a cloth poppy. We would like to actively encourage our students to wear their poppy and, after school, visit our town's Cenotaph on High Street.

Please show your individual support for this important day, and our Service Personnel, by purchasing a poppy, pen or wristband from the General Office.
