Welcome to the 2018 school year!
To begin with, I would like to sincerely thank all the Year 7 students and supervising staff who supported the Houses Competition on Wednesday 31 January. The spirit, enthusiasm and exemplary manner demonstrated by Koonung’s newest students was most impressive.
After compiling the scores, the results of this competition are as follows:
4th Streeton (70 points)
3rd Roberts (135 points)
2nd McCubbin (145 points)

To conclude, as the Houses and Interschool Sport Coordinator I strongly encourage all students to get involved in as many of these extra-curricular activities as possible.
We are passionate about young people being active, trying their best and being proud of representing their school. Koonung performed exceptionally well last year in Division, Region and State competitions and with your participation this year we should be aiming to do the same, maybe even better!

School Sports Victoria - Team Vic Cricket 12 years and under results
Congratulations to Heidi Pearce (8A) who featured in the above team (back row, 2nd from left).
Team Vic 12 years and under cricket teams took part in a very hot and challenging School Sport Australia Championship in Barooga, NSW and surrounding towns in early January 2018.
The 12 years and under girls team had a great week, taking out the Bronze medal in a convincing win over South Australia (SA) in the 3rd vs 4th playoff game. This was despite losing to SA earlier in the week during the round matches. The 12 years and under boys didn't come home with the result they had hoped for, finishing eighth. However, the boys team was given the opportunity to play a day/night match against NSW at the Barooga No.1 ground. This particular game soon became a highlight of the Championships and a treasured memory the boys would remember for years to come.
Registrations are now open for schools to register students to take part in Cricket trials for 12 years and under. Schools can nominate up to three boys, and any number of girls. Click here to go to the registration page. Registrations close Friday 13 February.
