ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP SERVICES AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for primary school aged children. Tea and coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services.

PENTECOST

This Sunday is the festival of Pentecost, which closes the season of Easter in the Church year.  On this day, we celebrate how the Holy Spirit comes to help us to believe in God, to know him and to live as God’s children.  The Bible says that the Holy Spirit also gives us gifts to use to help all people (1 Corinthians 12:7).  Red is the colour of Pentecost and represents the flames of fire that descended on the followers of Jesus when the Holy Spirit came 50 days after Jesus’ resurrection.   ‘On the day of Pentecost, a strong wind came from heaven and tongues of fire came to rest on them.’  (Acts 2:1-21)

The Holy Spirit is commonly represented in pictures as a dove (during the Baptism of Jesus, the Spirit descended like a dove) or as fire, for the flames that rested on the heads of Jesus’ disciples.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @St Paul is on each Tuesday during term time in the Hall.  We welcome people anytime from 8.30 onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30am each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.  We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week we looked at trains and drove our trains over the bubble wrap track in the sensory play space and read about lots of different types of trains in the book ‘Trains, Trains, Trains’ by Donna David.

Next week we will be looking at fish with the book ‘Ten Scared Fish’ by Ros Moriarty.

For more information about anything playgroup related, contact Kylie Koelman in the Church Office on 8262 4690 or email at office@stpaul-church.org.au
