Year 3 - Exploring angles in Mathematics

"Throughout Weeks 5 and 6, Year 3 have been exploring angles in Mathematics. The students have had the opportunity to engage in a range of fun and exciting activities to develop their mathematical understanding of right angles, angles “bigger than a right angle” and angles “smaller than a right angle”.

They created tracks made up of a variety of angles to drive a 'Sphero' through, identified angles formed through intersecting lines and even created their own angles artwork! It has been so much fun!"

Book of the Week

"How to Bee" is a beautiful and fierce novel for primary readers. This is a story about family, loyalty, kindness and bravery in a future where climate change has forever changed the way we live. The main character, Peony lives with her sister and grandfather on a fruit farm outside the city. In a world where real bees are extinct, the quickest, bravest children climb the fruit trees and pollinate the flowers by hand. Peony aspires to be a bee. On the farm, there is just enough food to eat and a roof over their head. Most importantly, there is love. The complication begins when Peony’s mother arrives to take her away from everything she has ever known, and all Peony’s grit and quick thinking might not be enough to keep her safe.
