The Impact of Giving

The Friends’ School Impact of Giving Report is now available to read online. This new publication acknowledges and celebrates the generous support provided to the School by caring families, alumni, staff, volunteers and friends during 2019.

The Friends’ School is a not for profit organisation and simply would not be the school it is today without the community that surrounds it and the philanthropy they have provided. Our students today benefit from the generosity of past generations and go on to make a positive impact in the world.

The Friends’ Fellowship

The Friends’ Fellowship provides significant financial assistance to a student who can least afford to attend the School and is funded by community donations during annual giving. In the past the community has raised enough funds to provide two years’ financial assistance for a student to commence in Year 11.

This year the School did not run a traditional annual giving appeal due to the challenges many in the community were facing as a result of Coronavirus. However many in the community, who had the capacity, still wanted to help. As a result, community donations, coupled with a generous gift of $20,000 from Neil and Elizabeth Roberts, made it possible to offer The Friends’ Fellowship to two students commencing in 2021. 

This really is a humbling, unexpected and wonderful result given the circumstances this year and a testament to the strength and generosity of The Friends’ School community.

Thank you to all those who donated to The Friends’ Fellowship and for enabling two new students, who could otherwise not afford to attend the School, to commence at Friends’ next year.

COVID-19 Emergency Fee Relief Fund - Thank you for your support

The recent challenges and impacts of the COVID-19 global pandemic have been vast and tested the strength of our community. In response, the Board of Governors established a special purpose COVID-19 Emergency Fees Relief Fund to directly support those families who have, and in many cases, continue to experience financial hardship as a result of the pandemic. 

The financial support from the community for this Fund has been inspiring and humbling, with community members contributing $43,134.56 to the Fund. This Fund has now assisted over 35 families who were in severe financial distress. We thank all those who donated for your care and concern for Friends’ families at this time.
