Where do I find God during COVID?

The Year 7’s at St John’s have been looking at how people of faith in The Old Testament responded to hard times to find where God was leading them.  In this study, they have realised the importance of family and their stories. God weaves His love through both the family members and their experiences.  The students have been able to reflect on the ways messages within sacred texts can still be so relevant today, even during this pandemic.

God is alive in 2020!

As I kid coming from a Greek and Arab background, I wouldn’t say I have much of a story

to tell but I do know some things that my great grandparents did. From my dad’s mum side, they owned a lot of land and had a vineyard and created their own wine! They had many grape trees! On my mum’s side her family lived a pretty tough childhood with her mum passing away but that didn’t stop them from perusing their dreams!

Isolation

I am looking forward to entering school again.  School is one of those things that I would not want to live without.  School may be stressful at times but I find that I'm able to relax and calm myself whilst being educated. I also really miss seeing my homeroom, opening my locker every morning and even getting dressed in my school uniform.

For me, I think there is a moral to this crisis! It has taught me that people need to be more grateful in life because things are not always going to grow on your trees in the backyard. This has taught me a really valuable lesson that I should take care of and respect everything Jesus has to offer me, INCLUDING FAMILY! Yes, you may not be able to afford certain things but be grateful that you are in the situation that you are because it will leave to something good, but it's all in God's hands!
