Geography

As we head toward the end of the term, our persistent learners are still hard at work finishing up assessment tasks.

Year 8 are chewing through their landform assignment, learning about the great barrier reef, causes of its degradation and methods we can use to sustainable preserve it.

Year 9 have completed their second assessment, a website report on farming practices and how we can improve them going forward to 2050, when we are expecting a world population close to 10 Billion people! That is a lot of mouths to feed, just as well Year 9 have the answers!

Year 10 have also been hard at work on their urban management project. So far they have discovered lots of interesting things, for example Moscow has a miniscule 1.8% unemployment, and Bangkok has more than ten times the amount of people per square kilometre than Melbourne! No wonder the question of managing urban centres will be a key one going forward for us all!
