What's Been Happening?

CROSS COUNTRY

By Shaun Doherty ( Sport Co-ordinator )

The inaugural BHCS Virtual Cross Country saw students participate in a run at a place of their choosing over an assigned distance depending on their year level, then upload a screenshot of their run using fitness tracking apps such as Strava and Map my Run.

The event ran over the space of ten days and students were allowed to submit as many entries as they liked, which essentially encouraged them to be more active during this lockdown time. Students really embraced the event and took every opportunity

to be active, with over 200 students entering, which was excellent to see.

There were some outstanding results and the winners at each year level are listed below.

Congratulations to every student who entered and thank you to parents who ran with their child and encouraged them to be active. Hopefully this has motivated students to continue to be active throughout this lockdown and beyond.

FAMILY TRIVIA NIGHT

By Amanda Wight ( BHCS Pulse )

Wow, what an awesome Trivia Night we enjoyed last Thursday evening.

A massive thank you to Allen Dickson for organising and hosting us. He is one entertaining host!

It was so good to break from this ‘new normal’, have a really good laugh and gather together with family. Thanks to all those BHCS families who joined in.  It was so nice to see all those faces.

A special mention must go to team 'GK' who finished "Runners Up" multiple times throughout the evening, but the overall winners were definitely 'Team Messenger'. Congratulations!

There were so many clever and creative team names but the prize for the best team name (or names) goes to The Brown family!  We loved how you kept very slightly tweaking your name - just enough to keep us guessing...even if it began as a typo error!

And so many awesome nibbles plates were being devoured, but the award for best food is going the Szalay family! Those cupcakes looked amazing.

Your prizes will arrive to you shortly. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves!
