Shearing Day at the Barn
Our sheep lost their woolly winter coats last week when school parent and shearer, Mark Connors came to the School to demonstrate shearing and how to throw and skirt the fleece to Miss Garden's Year 9/10 Agriculture students. Mark Bazeley of Riverina Wool also visited and gave students an overview of what they look for when buying fleeces and more detail about wool as a fibre. He also generously donated a wool table to the School which will be a great help during future shearings!
A sincere thanks to both of the Marks for a very informative and interactive morning in the barn - we're looking forward to working together again in the future.
Year 11 Exams
Preliminary Examinations are starting next week, beginning on Monday 7 September until Tuesday 15 September. We aim to support the students to achieve their optimum level in these upcoming examinations.
We would like to take the opportunity to make you aware of the following requirements we have during examinations which are designed to support each student as they prepare for and complete their Preliminary examinations.
All students:
- Should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the examination start time.
- Are expected to know their examination timetable, which has been emailed to each student.
- Are required to stay in the examination for the full length of the allowed writing time.
- Must be in their school uniform (not sport uniform) for attendance at school, this includes examinations and also when they come to school to study or meet up with teachers.
- Students are expected to be here at school or at home completing meaningful study. They are not allowed to leave the school and come back the same day.
To clarify Year 11 student attendance during the Trial Examination period:
- If they are coming in for the morning examination they are to go straight to the Hall, and the roll will be marked while they do the examination. At the conclusion of the exam they may leave without signing out. If they choose to stay on site they must sign in at Student Services and sign out if they leave before 3:05pm.
- If they don’t come to school until the afternoon examination they are to go straight to the Hall and the roll will be marked while they do the examination. As the examination finishes past 3:05 pm they do not have to sign out. If they come in to school for the morning before an afternoon exam, they must sign in.
- If they are coming into school to study in the Resource Centre, meet with Study Groups or Teachers, they must sign in or out as is appropriate.
