Due to the ELC construction at NWS campus, parents and visitors will need to use the pedestrian gate on Centre Road to enter the front office, as shown on the map below. We recommend parking on Centre Road if you only need to visit the front office. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Be Sun Smart!

Although it may still be cold, Victoria’s UV levels are on the rise so please check the daily local sun protection times to see when you need to be SunSmart. The sun protection times are a forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology for the time of day UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher in your location. At these levels, sun protection (hat, clothing, sunscreen, shade and, if practical, sunglasses) is recommended for all skin types.

When outdoors, whether that be for the one hour of permitted exercise in metropolitan Melbourne or if you’re lucky enough to be allowed outside for longer, check the sun protection times and use sun protection accordingly. For more information for families please check out:

Canteen Closed

Canteen will no longer be operating for the time being. Please ensure your child/ren bring lunch and snacks with them to school each day.

CCTV In Use at Both Campuses

Effective this year, we now have CCTV cameras operating in all areas of our College, at both campuses and on our buses. We believe the safety of our students, staff, parents and facilities is of utmost importance and feel the addition of cameras at Officer (and NWS since prior to 2019) will be beneficial.

Enrolments for 2021

Early Learning Centre (3 and 4 Year Old)

Since enrolments opened in August for the new Early Learning Centre at Narre Warren South, there has been plenty of interest with lots of new applications to secure spots for next year. With many Early Learning enrolments also opting in for the Prep pathway, we see that friendships developed in the early years extend right throughout Primary school and beyond. Secure your child’s place in 2021 or 2022 at our Early Learning Centres on campus at Narre Warren South or Officer. Contactless enrolments are available.

Families of Year 6 students (Year 7 2021)

For those continuing on to Year 7 at Heritage College (Officer campus), you will receive confirmation of your child’s placement in Year 7 2021 shortly. In this letter, we also mention some considerations in the lead up to the end of the academic year. Please do check your emails and SEQTA login for this important information.

If your circumstances change

We understand that from time to time, families may need to withdraw their child due to moving or financial commitments. Notification of withdrawal of enrolment from Heritage College must be made in writing with at least one full term’s advance notice. For example, if you do not wish to continue your child’s enrolment in the coming year, notice in writing must be provided to the college by the end of Term 3.

Scholarships Accepted

During Term 3, we concluded the Scholarship offerings for the 2021 academic year. There were a number of high-calibre applicants that applied for this year’s round of offers, and we are grateful to every family and student who submitted their application.

Successful recipients of Scholarships commencing in 2021 have now been notified. We congratulate each student for their merit in their respective scholarship categories and look forward to a continued high standard of achievement in the years ahead.

Notifications regarding the next Scholarship offerings will be communicated via the Newsletter and to all Year 5 and 6 families directly via SEQTA Engage in 2021.

School Banking

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Coronavirus, the School Banking program will remain on hold.

In the meantime, here are some handy online resources for parents who wish to maintain momentum with their child’s financial education:

Start Smart: these resources have been created to improve children’s money management skills, and is aligned to the Australian Curriculum and the National Consumer Financial Literacy Framework.
The Beanstalk: offers videos and fun activities for children to learn about money.

Sibling Enrolments for Early Learning and Prep Years

As siblings of existing students are priority enrolments for both Early Learning and Prep, it is important that we have them allocated prior to the new year beginning. If your child turns 3 or 4 next year, you can submit your application for enrolment in Early Learning Centre on either campus for 2021 and beyond.

Simply download the application form, scan the documents and return via email.

Pathway to Prep

The Step into Prep program offers parents a pathway for children entering Prep the following year. Parent Information sessions are held and Orientation runs throughout Terms 3 and 4. Your child’s Prep enrolment is to be submitted by end Term 2 of the preceding Prep year. Once your child is enrolled in Prep, there is no need to re-enrol as the enrolment is automatically retained each year until graduation.

Student Absences

If your child is unable to attend school on a specific day, please do not email their teacher. Instead, please notify the front office staff at absences@heritagecollege.vic.edu.au or phone 9796 0100 by 9:30am with the child's name, year level and reason for absence. Thank you.

Year 7 and 10 Immunisations

Following the recent change with students returning to on-campus learning over the next couple of week, Cardinia Shire Council has restarted the 'at school' immunisation programs. The free vaccinations for Year 7 and Year 10 students will take place from 9:15am on Thursday, 12th November. Should you have any questions, please contact our wonderful administration team.
