Year 5/6JC

E-Smart

This term 5/6JC have continued their E-Smart Safety Online Program to learn how to play safe and stay safe online. The students are working through 8 different modules such as devices, privacy, researching, gaming and sharing. When they receive a pass rate on a topic they complete their reflection on each one and at the end are awarded a digital licence!

Here are some student responses to their learning of safe procedures online:

The 5th module was about gaming language, how to turn off your notifications, what apps are social media and what to do when you or something you know is getting cyber bullied. They talked about when to shut down your phone, another thing they talked about is what games to play because some games can be addictive. - Abol

Online you have to be very wary of who your friends are and who is a stranger. If you get a text saying it's your friend double check that it is them and don’t believe what they say over the internet. Make sure you stand up for your friends and don't get into any gossip or send mean things online.- Imogen
