Be kind to each other... You never know what someone else has been through.

On the 29th of April, the Year 5s had a special visitor who originally came from a place that no longer exists!

Her name was Sundus, and she worked for the Centre for Multicultural Youth. Sundus was a migrant and she shared with us her story of migration.

Steph from 5ET explained, "It was a cool experience to meet someone who had a big interesting story" She spoke to us for over a half an hour about her life and her journey. Amazingly, she was only one year old when she began her voyage to Australia.

Her family fled Kurdistan because of the dangers of war. Kurdistan is no longer a country or even a place. Her family bravely fled the conflict that would see their home split into many countries because of the fighting.

She brought the Year 5s a message of unity and multiculturalism. "She said that everyone is an Australian!" quoted Jimi from 5ET. Sundus wanted us all to know, that she tells her story so that we know it's okay to tell ours.

"Don't be afraid to tell your story!" Sundus said as she left us to think about how her message of hope and togetherness might change the way we act within our community.
