Thomas Hilditch Takes Gold

 

Well done to Thomas Hilditch in Year 11 who recently attended the Australian All School Championship in Cairns QLD, representing Western Australia. Thomas won the gold medal for the U18 Javelin with a huge throw of 56.01m. This means that Thomas has qualified for the Australian Junior Championships to be held in Sydney in April.

Ryan Myburgh in the Top Final Eight

Well done to Ryan Myburgh who competed at the Australian All School Championships finishing in 6th place .

Tom Regan Represents Indigenous Cricket 

 

Well done to Tom Regan who represented Western Australia in the National Indigenous Australian Cricket Championships in Alice Springs. WA were defeated in all but the last game, against NT - 6/129 vs 8/125. Tom made 54 runs for the tournament.

 

Well done to Tom on this outstanding achievement!

Big Smiles for Baseball

 

Well done to Andrew Hurrelbrink (Yr 10), Ashton Hamilton (Yr 10),  Kaiden Pisani (a former student who has left to complete his apprenticeship) and Trent Daniele (Yr 11) on their outstanding achievement in representing WA in the under 16 State baseball team. The team won a Bronze medal at the Australian Youth National Championship tournament that was held in Blacktown, NSW from 11th- 20th January.

Congratulations to the students below that have been selected in the 1st XI 20/20 Cricket Team that will participate in the Graeme Wood Shield schools competition. Round robin fixtures are below, with all three games being played here at Mazenod.  All members of the Mazenod community are welcome to come along and watch the games.

 

The College would also like to welcome back former Oblate Cricket and Graeme Wood Shield winning captain, Liam Hindle who will be assisting the team in the their quest to regain the shield.

2019 House Swimming Carnival

 

On Thursday 21 and Friday 22 February the annual House Swimming Carnival takes place in the College pool. Further information is provided in the attached information letter as well as in the schedule below. 

Parents and friends are welcome to attend on the day.

Dive into Swimming Training 

 

Students are reminded that swimming training will be commencing for the 2019 ACC Swimming Team. All students are invited to attend however this is aimed at those students who swim regularly at a club or have represented the College in swimming previously.

Training starts promptly at 7:00am Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the College Pool.

Breakfast provided. Any questions please see Mr Mallon or Mr Mason.

School Tennis Championships

 

Nominations for the Mazenod College Tennis Championships are now open. The tournament is broken up into a Junior and Senior Tournament. It is recommended that students considering nominating for the tennis Championships are currently playing tennis at a club level as the standard of the tournament is very high.

  • Junior Championships (Yr 7/8/9): Saturday 23 February 8:00am – 12:00pm @ (College tennis courts)
  • Senior Championships: (Yr 10/11/12): Friday 22 February 4:00pm-6:00pm @ (College tennis courts)

Nomination forms are available in the gym foyer and need to be returned by Monday 18 February to the gym return slips box.

Got Your Mouthguard?

 

Students who are interested in getting a new mouth guard for the upcoming 2019 football and basketball seasons are to get a mouth guard form from the PE Office.

 

Fitting dates are:

  • Friday 8 March (Lunchtime in the gym kitchen)
  • Friday 15th March (Lunchtime in the gym kitchen)
