ACTING PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

TERM 3
The end of Term 3 is always a busy time and the college has been abuzz with activity. Year 8 students have undertaken rogaining as part of their Survivor program, the Year 10 Outdoor Education students have enjoyed hiking in the great outdoors and many students have been involved with the Maths Olympiad. Tremendous learning has been undertaken and I thank our dedicated, passionate teachers who work tirelessly to ensure students are given every opportunity to strive academically and socially.
Once again McKinnon students have been actively learning languages outside the school boundaries though enjoying interstate and overseas tours. Year 11 German students visited Hahndorf in South Australia and our Year 10 French students are currently in New Caledonia undertaking an intensive language program. We thank the teachers for providing these wonderful opportunities for our students.
ASIA WEEK
This week we have been celebrating Asia week with fabulous celebration around food, music and dance which brought about great enjoyment and a celebration of cultural diversity and understanding.
I would like to thank all staff who have helped us celebrate and particularly Mrs Nayyar for her dedication and commitment to putting together a very enjoyable and successful week of celebration.
PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS
Once again I thank the parents who attended the Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews. Feedback at this time is crucial for improved student learning outcomes to be achieved.
The strong partnerships that exist between parents and teachers at McKinnon contribute significantly to student success.
There was a strong sense of community and celebration.
I thank the many parents who took the time to thank staff for their efforts. I appreciate your support. Together with parents and teachers we all work tirelessly to achieve the best educational outcomes for all the students in our care.
