What a start to Term 3!

We started off week 1 with our Tee ball and ALF girls teams going to Divisions. Our Tee ball team came away with a win and will be going to the next stage while our girls team won 1 game from 3. Both teams did really well! Week 2 saw Parent Teacher Interviews. Thank you to all those parents and carers who came on the night to discuss their child’s learning and progress. If you ever have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to contact James or Ainsley or pop in after school to see us. Our doors are always open. Week 3 was just as busy with 100’s days of school, lots of Wakakirri practice and House Athletics. Congrats to Yellow House for winning! With an action packed term coming up Turquoise are looking forward to our excursion to Ceres, our upcoming Father’s Day stall and Celebration, Hoop time, Billy Slater Rugby, 5/6 Tea parties, Cultural Day, Robotics and Lantern Making. Stay tuned for many opportunities for parents and carers to come into our open classroom sessions.

During writing this term we have been concluding our debating topic. Students from Turquoise presented a range of debates on ‘Apple is better than Andriod’, ‘Teachers should be replaced by robots’ and ‘Bottled water should be banned’. Students chose a topic and made teams of three then presented as either the affirmative or opposing team. Students had the chance to be the chairperson or adjudicator for each debate. Our next topic for writing is Information Reports. You can help your child at home by assisting with researching their chosen topic.

Our new Inquiry topic of Sustainability have commenced and we are becoming sustainable citizens! Students have been Tuning in to what sustainability consists of, looking at some startling statistics and investigating two sides to every story. Our Ceres excursion in Week 5 will be a great time for students to find out a little bit more about how we can be sustainable in our day to day life to reduce our impact on our environment. If you haven’t returned your Ceres excursion note yet please do it. ASAP.

Looking forward to a full on and exciting Term 3
