The Sapphire Superstars have had a marvellous start to Term 3.  We went on an excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria to see the Terracotta Warriors and other famous Australian paintings. One painting that really stood out was named ‘Tasmanian Aborigines’ by Robert Dowling painted in 1857. The reason we were so captivated was because one of the people in the painting was a lady named Truganini in which our suburb and school is named after. She is sitting by a campfire wearing a clay necklace. The sign next to the painting explained that wearing a necklace was for warriors.

To celebrate 100 days of school we got to dress in our comfy pyjamas. We participated in a STEM challenge where students worked in teams to design and build a tower using 100 blocks. We then had to investigate the fraction of colours used in the tower.

Most recently we enjoyed a day outdoors at the VU athletics track. We all had fun and were really proud of all the students who won a ribbon!
