Learning Gallery

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the 2023 School Year! The children and staff have settled into school life enthusiastically. I hope all families had an enjoyable and safe summer holiday.

As a Catholic school within the Armidale diocese, we continue to embed our pastoral care and wellbeing student support framework called ‘Living Well, Learning Well’.

This framework focuses on positive statements and language about expected behaviours from our students.

These expected behaviours include three ‘Rules for Living’ that help clarify our students and staff's social behaviour expectations.

Big Write & VCOP

The following information will provide you with helpful information about the completion of Big Writes in Term 1.

What is the Big Write?

Big Writes will follow a 2-week cycle in Term 1. Big Writes will be completed fortnightly on Thursdays. Talk Homework will be sent home fortnightly on a Wednesday

Our first Big Write will take place on Thursday, the 16th of February.  Due to next Wednesday (15th February) being our school Swimming Carnival, Talk Homework will be sent home on Tuesday,14th February. Thank you for your flexibility. We look forward to supporting our students during their first Big Write for the school year.

The Big Write and VCOP support the premise that If a child can't say it, they can't write it! Therefore, we aim to provide our students with many opportunities to talk to support oral language.

This week we also welcomed our new Kindergarten class. The students have settled in very well and we look forward to an exciting year ahead.

Warm regards,

Elise Baird
