Class 2/3 Steiner Celebrating Learning

2/S Steiner have just completed our Farming main lesson. Here we explored the connection between what we buy in the supermarket and how our food is produced. We also explored what living things need.

As part of our immersion, the children took part in the Henny Penny Hatching Program. We had over ten chicken eggs hatched in our classroom and the children took care of the chickens in our room over a two-week period. 

We also went on an excursion to Bundoora Park Farm where we further explored what living things need and were inspired by a greater understanding of life on a farm. 

We are now onto our final main lesson of term 1: Place Value. The children are learning about place value through a range of imaginative images, use of concrete materials, as well as by completing vertical addition and renaming or trading.
