Harmony Week in Music
Sasa Nukufetau is a dance from the island nation of Tuvalu. Students had fun learning the dance and using the drums.
Years P-2 explored the dance and were introduced to the djembe.
Years 3/4 learned the dance rhythm on the skin drums to accompany their classmates doing the dance.
Years 5/6 learned one of three rhythms and played them together to accompany the dance, using skin drums, bucket drums and hand percussion.
A big thank you to the students who volunteered to perform the dance and drumming at Assembly!!!
Pose!
Students have been loving striking a pose at the end of the chant Lemonade. We have had all sorts of poses from animals to Slay!
