Craft Room

Students have all settled well in the craft programme and are making great progress on their various craft projects.

Foundation students are working on their sewing project to make a simple hessian bag. They are learning to use the dolphin/fish stitch and the verse to assist with their learning. ‘The dolphin/fish goes in the water and then out of the water’. They will also learn finger knitting to make the strap for their bag. Class one have started their recorder bags and will be ready to secure the lining  by the end of term.  Class two to six classes are all working on their various knitting projects as discussed with each class. With these long knitting projects students will need to demonstrate perseverance and resilience.

To support student learning, parents are invited into the art room.  It is especially helpful if you are able to support students with their various knitting projects, but any help is greatly appreciated. You will need a current working with children check. Please sign in at the office before you come to the art room.

I am also trying to get the TPS community craft group up and running again. This has always been a great way for our parents, grandparents and carers to come along each Wednesday to the art room and create interesting craft things to sell at our next BBQ or Art festival. If you are interested in picking up a new skill or would like to share a skill, then this would be perfect for you. Toddlers are also welcome to join you in the art room. This is a great way to meet other parents and become valuable members of our TPS community.

Please email me any questions or to express your interest.

Looking forward to working with all you again,
