Year 6 Poetry Unit

While Year 5 has been completing NAPLAN, Year 6 has been exploring different types of poetry.

We looked at a range of different styles, including; haiku, limerick, acrostic, free verse, concrete and cinquain. We followed the writing process from planning through to publishing. We hope you enjoy reading some of Year 6’s amazing poetry!

Arty says “I liked learning about poems. I enjoyed growing through the writing process and being able to publish”.

Palmie says “Poetry is cool. I liked learning about the obscure poetry types and I liked how deep they were. You had to be creative”.

Perry says “I loved it. It was so fun improving my writing and seeing all the different forms of poetry”.
