Our enrolment update: 406 students - that's 211 more students than when we opened in 2022.

TERM 4 brings a Department School Review

Every four years, schools have the opportunity to move through a Review Process to gain an understanding of their strengths, growth and future areas of focus and need. This is facilitated by external Department Reviewers and professional expertise, including the Department School Education Improvement Leader and other Principals who form a review panel. A three day intensive process results in our School's 4-year Strategic Plan being developed to guide us to future success. School Council Members, as advocates for our community, have an important role in this process. More information will be shared, with feedback sought closer to our review dates mid Term 4.

Kiss & Drop Curiosity

We have recently been contacted by a few community members requesting consideration for a Kiss and Drop car area to be placed somewhere on entry into our school. Points have been raised about the limited parking on De Rossi Boulevard particularly due to the Kirrip Community Carpark not accessible and limited parking provision. It was also raised that parking along De Rossi is sometimes taken by our staff, preventing families from getting a park close by the school.

Some staff do park on the street due to our Staff Carpark not being planned to sufficiently cater to the needs of our growing school population. Unfortunately, Council planning and infrastructure has been poor in establishing adequate parking around the Secondary College and our new school needs.

We are hoping that the De Rossi upgrade that the Whittlesea Council is planning for will provide some parking relief but also the opportunity for a Kiss and Drop area. Further liaison with planners involved with this infrastructure change was a key action discussed in this meeting. Sweetha (School Council President) and Jodee (Business Manager) will be looking at further opportunities to engage with the Whittlesea Council regarding our school needs. We will keep community posted on any further developments.

MEET OUR SCHOOL COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT

Hi, I am Jodie Hutchinson, Vice President of the School Council. This is my second year on school council and I’m excited to be working with the community to ensure that we are providing the best for our kids. My husband, Chris, and I are raising three strong, smart girls – Lillian who is currently in grade one at Wollert, and Eloise and Abigail who will be attending Wollert Primary in the coming years. We also have a Golden Retriever, Bob.

Community is very important to both Chris and I – growing up both our parents were very involved in the school community and served on school councils at our respective schools. We are keen to ensure that our children, and all children at Wollert Primary gain the benefit, not only of a quality education but the social and emotional development that comes from being part of a supportive and inclusive community.

You will often see me at school pick-up in the afternoons, waiting for Lillian who is often one of the last kids out of class. Please feel free to reach out to me to say hi, or to discuss anything that I can raise at school council on your behalf.
