How long have you been at HPSC?
7 weeks!
What do you teach?
Math!! (Best subject ever) but I sometimes teach Science (when I feel like it)
What is your favourite thing about teaching?
Laughing with everyone. Smiling is the best cure 😊
What are your hobbies/interests?
I like activities. I’ve made jewellery and carpets. I’ve done horse riding and enjoy painting but most of all I love Muay Thai!
What is your favourite food?
Japanese food but I especially enjoy consuming salmon sashimi
What is your favourite book?
I did a book review on this recently but it would definitely have to be Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson. I just really enjoy reading fantasy books.
Do you have a quote or any advice to live by?
In schools, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson

How long have you been a student at HPSC?I have been a student at HPSC since 2018!
What is your favourite subject? My favourite subject is Chemistry! It was my accelerated subject of choice from 2021 where I have completed Chemistry 3 and 4 in 2022. I am now currently helping the current Chemistry 3 and 4 students during my study periods right now!
Are you enjoying year 12?Year 12 is fun at times, but can be demanding when subjects require you to work at certain expectations.
What is your favourite book/movie/tv show? My favourite TV show is Adventure Time, I’ve been watching it with my sister since primary school and we both finished Adventure Time: Distant Lands together.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of school? One of my hobbies I do is karate, which is invigorating and fun!
What do you want to do after you graduate?I want to be either a pharmacist or a research scientist. Both are interesting career pathways for me that use elements of chemistry in its day-to-day tasks.
Who do you look up to, and why?I look up to my sister and parents, they all fundamentally made me the person I am now, and provide me with support when I need it the most.
What is one piece of advice you'd give students in younger years?Allocate specific times of your week to do tasks such as study or homework for different subjects. Having a good work life balance is important, where having a routine allows you to enjoy your day, as well as getting work done on time!
Values Nominations and House Points
Term 1 has already shown a huge amount of values nominations come through to celebrate the incredible work that students are doing in their classes, and to show the dedication to adhering to the school values. Keep it up.
Reading House Points
We are running the House Reading Challenge again in 2023!! Walton took out first spot last year, so hopefully we can win two years running!
To participate, just read a book, and write a review! You get 50 house points and go into the running to win a book prize!
Walton Book Recommendation !
Hi all! Ms Phelan here 😊My book recommendation for this month is:
This is one of my favourite books ever. It is a proto-feminist novel with elements of gothic, romance and mystery! I recommend it for everyone, particularly if you want to give reading the classics a go!
New Walton Space
Excitingly, on Tuesday this week we held our very first Walton House Assembly and used the brand-new Walton space! We were thrilled to have the whole Walton house team together, it was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the wonderful things our Walton students have achieved.
Thank you
