Assistant Principals' Report

We have had a wonderful start to the school year. It was so exciting to be able to welcome our new Year 7 students and our returning students from Year 8-12. It has been impressive to see students embrace the return to school in such a positive and studious manner in their classrooms.

We look forward to meeting all our students through a variety of ways either teaching you, school forums and events throughout the year.

We are continuing our focus on building positive relationships with our students through our Engagement and Wellbeing teams, I have highlighted below who is currently working in these areas and I encourage students to see their relevant Year level leader for help, support and advice.

School Engagement & Wellbeing Leaders

Just a reminder that the two sub-schools are led by:

Junior School Engagement & Wellbeing Leader (Years 7 – 9): Shane Maloney

Senior School Engagement & Wellbeing Leader (Years 10 – 12):  Anthony Ellul

Both of these people have a fantastic team working with them as Year level Leaders:

Junior school year level leaders:

Year 7 Nick Heading

Year 8 Stella Ramos

Year 9 Callum Harber

Senior School Year level Leaders

Year 10 Dimitra Matheou

Year 11 Andrew Erickson

Year 12 Gus Mclean

Our Wellbeing team consists of:

Karina Dienjes – Student Wellbeing Coordinator

Robyn Marret – Mental Health Practitioner

Nick Dimarco – Youth Worker

Melissa Lenten – Adolescent School nurse

All of these staff work on various days throughout the week and will always help support students in a variety of strategies to help students with their wellbeing and learning.

The SWPBS team have put out the 2023 Positive Merit exchange menu where students can collect their merits and then go to their sub school to exchange. Students can receive merits by showing our school values.

The list can be found around the school in key locations such as sub schools, library and canteen area and will be updated on the school website.

Immunisations for year 7s will be happening in May. We have sent out the electronic consent form on Compass, please have a read of the information posted and if you have not completed the form please do so and return to school at the reception desk or email it to the school.

Finally, the school photos will be taking place on the 10th of March. All students are expected to wear the Academic uniform for the school photos and follow the jewellery/accessories and hair colours that are set out in the uniform policy on the school website.

Take care.
