BIKE EDUCATION!

Wow what a week in sport! Biked Education kicked off this week and it was a whole load of fun! Zaynah from 4/5/6 said it was "EPIC!" We had the most amazing parent helpers and we certainly wouldn’t have had so much success and smiles without them. Thank you so much!

The students were so excited to bring their bikes to school. The F/1s talked about bike safety and how to show care for each other while riding. They practised gliding, zig zagging and riding on different terrain. Some of our F/1s have written stories about bike ed in class. Tierry, a coach from Cycling Australia came to help us with our junior lessons, the school was lucky enough to receive a grant for this.

Our 4/5/6 students completed a course that included balancing on the pedals, turning, stopping at signals and uphill climbs. Some of our students built their confidence and refined their skills on the basketball court before also attempting the course. We were so impressed with the riding abilities of our students. They manoeuvred through the courses like true champions, we may have the next Tour De France champion in our presence!

Special mentions go to Oliver, Manuel, Lily, Hoth, Izzy, Berk, Sam B, Cooper, Soli, Magnus, Sebastian, Francis, Elanor, Josh, Leyla, Bronte, Tolly, Rafael, Jade. Everyone did well but these students showed incredible stamina throughout the entire session. Iggy, Jarvis and Xavier also deserve a special mention for showing responsibility and care. We discussed different cycling initiatives and races and how these initiatives support the wellbeing of communities.

Thank you to all the parents and carers that lugged the bikes, helmets and drink bottles to school, the kids certainly appreciated it! We did our best to get as many photographs as we could, please check these out on SeeSaw.
