Niina Marni (Hi, how are you?)

Last Saturday we acknowledged National Apology Day. On the 13th February, 2008, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd delivered an official national apology for the past mistreatment of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, in particular for the mistreatment for those who were part of the Stolen Generations. The anniversary of this apology speech is now largely considered a day of national significance within Australia’s reconciliation journey. If you would like to find out more about National Apology Day, go to https://www.reconciliation.org.au/national-sorry-day-2020/.

Each year, Port Adelaide hold a 'Walk of Awareness' to raise awareness of the day and to help people understand what the day represents for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Next year you may like to join in!

Nukkun,

Kath
