Year 12 Events

University Showcase

During Week 5 the annual University Showcase 2021 saw four universities visit McCarthy and speak to our Year 12 students. Thank you to the University of New England, the University of Newcastle,  Charles Sturt University and Southern Cross University.

Students had the opportunity to collect information and ask questions.

Health Careers Forum

On 23 March twenty Year 12 students have the opportunity to attend the Health Careers Forum organised by University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health where students will have the chance to hear about ten health and medical careers.

Jobs Classrooms

This year I have set up two Google Classrooms for students to choose to join. This is where I will be posting details of any jobs that I see, or any notifications I might receive from employers who contact the College.

  • 2021 Full time jobs Classroom
  • 2021 Part time jobs Classroom

So it is up to students to choose to join. The code is on the Jobs Noticeboard at the front of the Library.

Year 10 students and Careers talks in Term 1

In the next few weeks I will be talking to all Year 10 students in my role as Careers Adviser. All students will be shown where they can find information about choices, and options regarding careers, courses and subjects. Resources will be available for them and I look forward to helping them, along with other McCarthy staff, with the decisions that need to be made this year.

Work experience in 2021

The College's current guidelines, the application process and procedures involved are all outlined on the Work Experience page on the College's Careers @ McCarthy website.  We are also subject to any changes implemented due to COVID 19 and there are some restrictions.
