Instrumental music

Jack and I have been working hard over the last few weeks to reorganise instrumental music classes at BNWPS. Instrumental music is very important to the school community, and we are very aware that many students and their families are waiting for their return. Because of a shortage of space during the school day, we will be asking instrumental teachers to timetable their classes between 3.30pm and 6pm. Teachers are currently working to fit this into their busy schedules, and will be contacting families as soon as they are ready to lock classes in.

Tutor Program

During the last few weeks, teachers have been using data to identify the students who will be eligible for our first round of tutoring. Very soon, we will publish some guidelines for the community about how BNW will be approaching and organising the tutoring program.

This week’s writing prompt;

I hope that everyone enjoyed writing in their writer’s notebooks, and that you are making time to write on a regular basis … maybe even sharing the writing with your children!

This week’s writers notebook exercise involves sentence stems

Find somewhere to sit quietly and set a timer for ten minutes. Choose one of the following sentence stems and write down the thoughts or ideas that the stem makes you think of. If you run out of ideas, pick another stem and write down all of the thoughts and ideas that that stem prompts you to think about. Most importantly; write silently for ten whole minutes.

Here are the stems;

I think …

I feel …

I see …

I know …

I wonder …

I wish …

I want …

I remember…

Happy writing!
