Meet our new staff

Meet Hannah Madden: Grade 3 Teacher

Where were you when we found you: I was working as a CRT in Melbourne.

What was your previous life before becoming a teacher?

In my first life before I became a teacher, I travelled quite a bit and have lived in a few different countries. Before finding my way to Clifton Hill Primary, I taught and lived in the UK. I also did a Bachelor of Arts and studied History and Archaeology. Sadly, I didn’t find any dinosaurs.

What is your favourite creative or relaxing outlet?

I really enjoy cooking and baking and love to feed my friends and family. It is something I find really relaxing and at the end there are some delicious treats. One of my favourite things to make is cupcakes and I love to try different flavours.

Are you a Melbourne local or from somewhere else?

I have lived in Melbourne for almost 10 years, but I grew up on the beach, down in Torquay. I grew up there with my older brother and my parents and still love going to the beach, but never did learn to surf!

What do you like the most about teaching?

I love the little community that is created in the classroom and school. It is very rewarding seeing students growing and learning together and to be able to build and be a part of that. It is so exciting to be a part of the moment when a goal is achieved, whether it is a netball game win or a math problem.
