How We Express Ourselves

 

​CENTRAL IDEA

People communicate by expressing themselves in many different ways​

 

As an International Baccalaureate world school, authorised to teach the Primary Year’s Programme, we explore six transdisciplinary themes each year. 

 

The students have been exploring various forms of communication, including social interactions and the effect we have on others when we communicate.

Lines of Inquiry

  • The range of ways we are influenced by communication.
  • The elements of effective communication.
  • The way  social interactions influence how people engage with ideas and respond to others
  • The differences between the language of opinion and feeling and the language of factual reporting or recording.

Action

 

Many students showed action in our ‘Matter’ Unit of Inquiry by researching and experimenting at home. They also brought science books to share with the class.
