Bereavement Message

It is with great sadness that I write to you about the passing of Mount Evelyn Primary School Principal, Angie O’Hare.  Firstly I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Angie’s family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.  I knew Angie as a wonderful colleague and educator.

As a school we have offered our support to the Mount Evelyn school community. Flick has been approached by the Department and will be Acting Principal at Mount Evelyn for the next five weeks.  I’m sure you will all agree with me that Flick is the perfect person to step in and help that community.  Rachel Ward and Jess Wallace will step into Flick’s Assistant Principal role while she is away.

Christmas Carols

After speaking to School Council and our staff, we have decided to postpone our traditional carols night this year. This decision was not taken lightly as we do love our carols night.  The problem is that we are squeezing a full term into six weeks and some things simply have to go.  Carols will be back bigger and better next year!

Graduation Dinner

Our grade six graduation dinner will be going ahead this year at Killara in Seville East.  Killara is a brilliant venue and the perfect place for memorable graduation photos.

Normally our students fundraise throughout the year to pay for all the costs associated with graduation dinner.  Unfortunately COVID has put a stop to our fundraising efforts for the past two years. Therefore, parents that wish to attend the dinner will need to pay $30 a head. The school will still pay for the students through the fundraising that we have managed to do.

As with government regulations parents will need to be double vaccinated to attend the venue.
