The Wagga Women’s Health Centre Visit

To listen to a very inspirational activist, Saxon Mullins

Ms Savage and I attended the Curious Rabbit Cafe on Wednesday 8 December to listen to the very inspirational activist, Saxon Mullins. The Wagga Women’s Health Centre hosted Saxon to speak to people involved in support services across Wagga, as part of the 16 Days of Activism, to acknowledge the fight against gender based violence. Saxon is a survivor of sexual abuse and her advocacy the catalyst for the new NSW Affirmative Consent laws. Listening to Saxon share some of her story left me feeling very empowered and has inspired me to want to share her messages around campaigning against gender violence with the Kildare community. We hope to access local support services to run some workshops on healthy relationships in 2022. Thank you to Leah Anderson from the Wagga Women’s Health Centre for inviting us to be a part of the conversation for positive change.
