ROME-RESA Community Day
Vinnies Christmas ROME-RESA Community Day on Wednesday 8 December was well supported by staff and students alike. From candy canes with positive messages delivered in morning Coaching to the Aussie Backyard activities in the afternoon, and the cake stalls at recess accompanied by the Year 11 band, the Kildare community rallied to support those who will be doing it tough this Christmas.
The afternoon activities saw Year 7 hit the dance floor with their ‘Just Dance’ moves while Year 8 showcased their talents in Table Tennis tournaments and Handball hitouts. Year 9 Basketballers slam dunked their way through the afternoon led by Jody “Mills” Siegwalt and Ben “LeBron” Colenso. Thong and Boot throwing techniques were on display by Year 10, as well as ‘eggcellent’ Egg and Spoon Races held in House groups. Some Year 10s stepped up to compete in a Hit and Run Cricket match with Mr “Howzat” Mack demonstrating his bowling technique. Forget the Brisbane Test, the real talent could be found on the Kildare Oval where Year 11 fought it out playing Diamond Cricket. Best on Ground was Mrs Bridget McMeekin for her one handed catch in the outfield!
The smiles in the photos say it all.
Thank you all, for your enthusiastic participation and cooperation.
