Resource Centre

The Resource Centre has been a hive of activity over the past two weeks with students borrowing books for the school holiday break. It has been wonderful to see so many of the new books being snapped to be enjoyed. There will be more new books being processed and made ready for next year as they arrive at the Resource Centre.
Many students have acted on the reminder notices to return overdue books which is very pleasing. A list of item/s with costs will be sent to Financial Services for those students who have not responded to the reminder notices to return their overdue items or have not taken the opportunity to contact Resource Centre Staff to resolve any issues regarding their overdue books.
I want to thank all of the students who have taken the opportunity throughout this year to suggest books to purchase for the collection and who also recommended to other students the books that they have read and enjoyed. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday filled with many books and lots of reading.
“The fire of literacy is created by the emotional sparks between a child, a book, and the person reading. It isn’t achieved by the book alone, nor by the child alone, nor by the adult who’s reading aloud—it’s the relationship winding between all three, bringing them together in easy harmony”. Mem Fox (Australian writer of children’s books and educationalist specialising in literacy).
