Year 12 Results & VTAC (University) Applications

Good luck to our Year 12 students who will be receiving their VCE results on Monday 12th December from 7am. The Careers Team are encouraging students who have made a VTAC application for universities studies to come into the school for careers counselling on their chosen preferences if needed. Change of Preference for University courses closes on 14th December at 5.00pm and the December offers will be released on 21st December from 2.00pm in your VTAC account or emails.

Remember there is always a pathway and we are here to help. Counselling will take place in the gymnasium classrooms, commencing 10am on Monday 12th December. Tuesday and Wednesday will start at 9am and all three days will go through until 3.30-4.00pm, depending on demand from students.

Wellbeing will be onsite to support students as well as representatives from La Trobe University, GOTAFE and The University of Melbourne. You do not have to book in for an appointment just show up on the days listed above.

Morrisby results are in

The My Career Insights program for all Year 9 students in government secondary schools has concluded for 2023. For the students at Greater Shepparton Secondary College who participated this year, they were able to:

• Learn about what skills and abilities they could bring to a job

• Find out about what jobs match their abilities, interests and personality, and the subjects they need for those jobs.

As part of the program, your child may have:

• Completed a series of online questions and quizzes (on the Morrisby Profile website) at school.

• Had a 30-minute meeting with a Morrisby-trained Career Practitioner, who explained the report to your child.

• Received a Morrisby Profile Report showing the results from the questions and quizzes, and possible jobs that match their abilities, interests and personality.

The Morrisby Profile Reports were handed out to students this week from their Neighbourhood Career Practitioner so we encourage parents to have a discussion with their child about their results and suggested career pathways. This program is one tool that will form the basis of future Career Education and Pathways as they progress to Year 10 next year.

An online version of the report can also be accessed at any time by students by going to www.morrisby.com and using their login information.

Well done to the students who were involved this year and if you have any further questions about the program or are yet to have been given your report, please see the Careers Practitioner in your neighbourhood.
